While our Sorahiko Denim Jeans are considered our "basic" denim, they are definitely one of our favorites. Those of you already familiar with previous versions of the Sorahiko know that as well as being woven on vintage selvage denim looms and meticulously constructed with great attention to details such as hidden copper rivets, over time the Sorahiko takes on the characteristics of the individual wearing them. This year, taking into account suggestions from our customers, we improved on the fit by making them a little slimmer in the hip and leg. The new 2010 Sorahiko is a relatively straight leg, tapering only slightly at the hem.

In addition to our classic and most basic "One Wash" version of the Sorahiko, the 2010 model will also be available in our "Barn" wash - each piece hand distressed in Japan - as well as our much beloved "Nando x Nando" wash - super dark, a result of both the warp and weft being indigo dyed.

		New NY Special Jomon Ai Denim The Jomon has returned at last! Against many odds and with much request we have succeeded in its reproduction. A year’s time was spent revising materials, specifications and craftsmanship for a new impeccable fit you will not want to miss. Our latest Jomon has a smart tapered hem and is just a bit slimmer than the previous edition. Constructed entirely by hand, it was made exclusively for our NYC customers in extremely limited quantity. We strongly encourage you to place your special order with us at an early date. The new Jomon will no longer be available for purchase on the online shop beginning April 21st once the denim debuts on our sales floor. From that time forward they will solely be sold in store at our Upper East Side location. Lastly, we will be taking custom orders if you are interested in upgrading to sterling silver buttons, rivets and/or a distressed finish. Please note that all custom orders are a final sale and are only taken at our Upper East Side store.


		2010 Sorahiko Barn & Nando Nando Have Arrived! This month we are very excited to have received both the 2010 Sorahiko Barn and 2010 Nando Nando Distressed denim just in time for summer! Meticulously hand distressed by Spotted Horse Craft denim laundry in Japan, these new styles are both slightly slimmer and more tapered than previous versions. Unlike the Sorahiko Barn and regular Sorahiko, where yarn used for the weft is left undyed, yarn used Nando Nando denim is indigo dyed on both the warp and weft. This results in the Nando Nando having a much deeper and darker indigo hue. Over time, where the Sorahiko will get much lighter, the Nando Nando will remain dark for much longer.
