Mr. Matsuzaki was born in Kyoto In 1959. He was inspired by a Buddha made of a stone and began work for a stone sculpture company in 1983. In 1987 he set-up as a stone sculptor in Kyoto and has since been developing his own sculpting style while remaining close to the shapes of a classic statue of Buddha. This is his third exhibition in New York hosted by 45rpm.

Each Omamori is created with this little mantra in mind:
Something new.
Something unchanging.
Something which creates a sense of ease.
Fully bathed in light or just a faint glow.
Its appearance gradually changes.
It wants only to exist and does so naturally in many places.
